It is always fun when the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile joins us for the Wearin' of the Green, St. Patrick's Day Parade. It is such an iconic American vehicle! The company recruits college-aged kids to be "hotdoggers" for a year.  The 'rolling weenie' is always a crowd favorite. We love when this special attraction joins us. Mispellings of Wienermobile must be pretty common. We've seen it spelled Weinermobile, Weeniemobile and Weanermobile!

2019  Parade (Staged with General Floats in Lineup) We are always happy to have the Wienermobile participate in the Wearin' of the Green, St. Patrick's Day Parade. This year we finally garnered up a few "weenie whistles!"  They say the vehicle has storage for 11,000 whistles! We got four. We would love for the company to come and saturate the crowd with these lightweight throws! Baton Rouge adults and children alike enjoy seeing the custom-made fiberglass hot dog and bun roll through our historic treed parade route.

2018 Parade (Staged with General Floats in Lineup) They arrived parade morning and drove into the general line-up so Parade Organizers did not get to meet them this year to show them Southern hospitality however, our favorite IT Leprechaun and his daughter Kate did find them. Once again, the Wienermobile was joined by Mr. Peanut and the Planter's Nutmobile.

Jumbo Dog John atop the Wienermobile

Jumbo Dog John popped through the removable bunroof to sit atop the Weinermobile relishing the life of an entertainer! It was a sad thing that I never met Spicey Mayo Mayra although she was obviously a franktastic driver. We were thrilled to have the Wienermobile and Hotdogging crew join us in 2017! They even brought friends! They came with the Planters Nutmobile! What an exciting year!

2009 Parade (Staged in Catholic Life Center Parking Lot)

The first year the Wienermobile joined us it rained! This was not the welcome we had planned! Alas, we have no control of the weather. This hot-dogging crew was great as they decorated the Wienermobile to make it even more festive! This year we staged them in the Catholic Life parking lot. We missed having them close to the lineup. This mistake won't be made again... if they return!
