2019 - The Southern University Band, known as the Human Jukebox, was one of the highlights of the 2019 Wearin' of the Green, St. Patrick's Day Parade. Jordan Piazza, proprieter of Phils Oyster Bar and the newly remodeled Uncle Earl's Bar both on Perkins Road, was the force behind making this magical band appear at our 34th parade. His one request was to have them near the end of the parade, which we made happen.  "Music in motion" is a very apt description of the Human Jukebox. Every step they take is deliberate and the sounds that imitate are magical. The Baton Rouge public loved seeing them in person. They performed down the entire 3 mile parade route and then marched to play with the bands Uncle Earls Bar had scheduled at their after-party.

The Human Jukebox is world renowned and has not performed locally at an event in many years. This was the first time they have played in the Wearin' of the Green, St. Patrick's Day Parade Thank you to Human Jukebox Band Director Kedric Taylor, Marketing Guru Eric Johnson and each and every band member that came and performed so beautifully. We loved having you as part of our annual event.  If you want to learn more about this outstanding band, visit their website.
